Friedrich Naumann Foundation signs the Diversity Charter

In 2020, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation not only held the Diversity Conference, it also made a strong commitment to diversity and tolerance at the workplace. As a signatory to the Diversity Charter, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation is helping to promote tolerance and diversity at the workplace. The charter allows companies and institutions of all kinds to make a commitment to more diversity, less discrimination and less exclusion. It aims to encourage employers to create a work environment that is prejudice-free, where all employees are valued. “As a liberal Foundation we support diversity and individual development. Diversity management at the workplace fosters self-determination and equality of opportunity for our employees and it expresses our mutual respect for each other. Tolerance, freedom and diversity are the basis of every successful corporate culture. Companies and organisations that commit to these principles help to reinforce open society and significantly increase their chances of commercial success,” explained Professor Karl-Heinz Paqué. “Many people are still afraid of being discriminated against on the basis of their sexual identity. We have to do something about that,” added Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger. “Making a commitment to diversity is essential for human, social and economic reasons.” In addition to discrimination, the charter discourages racism, antisemitism and xenophobia.”
